“Modulo Mathy” was the name of my avatar in Second Life. When I registered, the last name had to be selected from a predefined list. “Mathy” was on the list, and because I liked mathematics, I took it. Because I especially liked modular arithmetic, I chose “Modulo” for the first name. I’ve adopted the combination of the two names for my Twitter handle and for this blog.
